Some Great Audio Deals on the 'Net for March 2010

There are some good deals right now on audio tools & services available on the internet, but you need to act quickly :)

• Amplitube 2 ($15.00 available til March 8th)

Admittedly I'm a terrible guitar player, but sometimes I do use the guitar when writing songs.  Even though I suck my sound doesn't have to.  I didn't want to invest a bunch of money into guitar rig software because I'm not a guitar player, so the $15 IK Multimedia Amplitube 2 deal at AudioMIDI.com seemed perfect for me.  I purchased it and downloaded it and it sounds really good for demo guitar tracks.  You get 128 presets which will give you all sorts of sounds ranging from crunchy distortion to psychedelic 60s. You can also create your own presets using their 3 different amp models, 4 cabinet models, and two different mic models & placements. The app also supports midi control messages for pedal type functions.  Definitely worth $15. 

• Drumaxxe ($13.00 available til March 25th)

 IL, the company responsible for Fruity Loops, Harmless, Poizone and a host of other great audio tools and instruments announced their new drum synth, "Drumaxxe".  Drumaxxe offers the user sets of algorithmically modeled percussion instruments that respond more expressively than samples. It also includes an integrated step sequencer and built in effects.  For a limited time, IL is offering Drumaxxe on a pay what you want model asking for a minimum of 9 Euros or the $13 USD equivelent.  If you do download Drumaxxe and have Ableton LIVE, there is a quick tutorial on re-routing your instruments to seperate tracks in LIVE at Mark Mosher's blog: Modulate This!

• Voxengo Drum Service ($15 dollars until March 6th, 2010 - usually $70.00)

Some folks use electronic drums because that's the sound they want, others use them because they don't have a real drummer.  If you fall in that last category then this is a deal for you.  Voxengo is offering a deal until March 6th, where they will lay real live drum tracks to your recorded song for 15 dollars (usually $70 per song).  You provide them with a mp3 or your song with your demo drums and one without, as well as a click track and they will supply you with a 96kHZ 24 bit recording of a real drum track.  Go to their site to listen to demos and get specifics.  Given the complexity of miking a drumset and the cost of studio time, gear and a real drummer this is a fantastic deal.

I like the idea of the Voxengo service. That's brilliant. Sounds solid for $70. Sounds fantastic for $15.
